The language barrier is a pain though. Sometimes I feel like I'm learning so much French but then I hear conversations and I'm like ha!!! I don't know French!!!! But it will come to me.. I'm working on it! I'm loving the French culture. People have been so kind to me and I feel like I'm part of the family already.
I've been in France for a little over a week now. It's just as wonderful as I'd hoped it would be. The first couple days I was kind of homesick, but it goes away. Luckily, my host family is so loving and helpful! I feel like I have the sweetest family in all of France... The day after I got here I went to La Ciotat on the coast of Southern France with my family and we relaxed at the beach for 5 days (it was amazing). At night we would go out and get dinner, usually really good seafood, then we'd get ice cream. I've had so much ice cream. and fish. and bread and coffee and ice cream. It's all so worth it though. Something I really like is that after dinner you usually have coffee, fruit, yogurt, or ice cream or something. Dinner already takes awhile, so it gives you a lot of time to visit and talk about your day. :) And my first day of school was yesterday. It was a little boring to be honest, just cause I can't understand what the teacher is saying.. but the people were extremely welcoming so it's all good! The language barrier is a pain though. Sometimes I feel like I'm learning so much French but then I hear conversations and I'm like ha!!! I don't know French!!!! But it will come to me.. I'm working on it! I'm loving the French culture.
